The "Days A, B & C" described below are three sample outings; There are no outings included for the other days.
Day A. A full day trip to Mayfield Falls and Savanna la Mar.
After breakfast on the beach you
travel by small bus through the verdant countryside, passing sugar cane
plantations and villages, up into the hills and arrive at Mayfield River
and Falls. Crossing over a bamboo bridge you are introduced to a young
guide who will take you into the river and you’ll walk and swim up
river. Your guide may dive spectacularly into the river at safe places
and you may do the same; he will show you the natural whirlpools and
rock tunnels, and you take as much time playing there as you wish. At
last you come to the falls and after a while you walk back through the
forest and lawns as your guide shows you medicinal plants and birds and
you have lunch under a thatch roof. You leave just before the tropical
afternoon downpour and proceed to Savanna la Mar where the sun is
shining and you see this old busy market town, maybe buying fruit and
vegetables or a few rolls of film. This trip is suitable for persons
from 7 years of age. Old or water footwear should be worn at the river
and falls.
OR
You may substitute YS Falls for Mayfield. This is for all ages and your trip will include Bamboo Avenue and Black River Town and River, even a boat ride, if you wish, seeing crocodiles and many birds in the swampland. Lunch is included.
OR
You may include Treasure Beach and Lovers’ Leap or Appleton Sugar Plantation Tour and Rum tasting, replacing Black River or YS Falls. The tour is flexible to suit your interests.
Day B.
Following family breakfast on the beach, 2 adults go parasailing or diving (equipment provided) in the morning, whilst the children play on the beach, supervised if necessary by a housekeeper.
In the afternoon all the family have a ride on a ‘Banana’, a fun ride on a low rubber ‘banana’ sitting as on horseback, towed by a small fast boat. Then the private use of the Jacuzzi before it is opened to all guests.
In the evening, a housekeeper will baby-sit or watch the older children, as desired, while the adults spend an evening at a romantic bar or restaurant on the beach or cliffs (Cost of the evening outing not included).
Day C.
After breakfast on the beach or in your apartment, go by boat to a coral reef for snorkelling and swimming with the fishes, or go to Booby Cay, an uninhabited island with 3 beaches, You may be the only persons on this island, just 3 miles from Firefly.
In the afternoon visit the
lighthouse, surprisingly built by the French (England’s old enemy until
the 20th century). Then explore the West End (also known as
‘the cliffs’) of Negril, seeing local art in various forms and souvenir
shops and a different Negril from the beach area. Return by bus for
your private Jacuzzi time or beach time.
